Assuming that the first time around the turbo was really bad (which almost always means the bearing is gone) and after replacement with a new one it went out again that quickly it would not be a conensodence. I would suspect either the turbo oil supply or the oil drain as either would cause problems. If it were the drain it would quickly show up as oil either getting into the compressor or turbine. Oil into the turbine would quickly produce a lot of smoke out the exhaust. Oil in the compressor would find its way into the engine first clue maybe oil fouled mass air sensor and/or spark plug/s.
A restricted oil supply would take out the bearing quickly.

Update: I was told the turbo rod needed to be adjusted, and that it was a known issue (TSB ).

My Sportage last month started exhibiting the same sort of symptoms. The engine light came on and suddenly the car had absolutely no pep at all, I would need a good length just to get up to standard travelling speed. Was excruciatingly awful to deal with. Turns out, like others have reported, there was a TSB issued for the Optima's that wasn't issued for the Sportage as well, so my dealership had no ideas at first. Fortunately they identified the problem, and the car seems to be working again so far.

I don't think they had to replace any rods or anything, I just think they had to reflash the ECU correctly to control the wastegate properly.

regardless, it's fixed for now.
