Hey all,

Don't know if this is common or not but my rear passenger side door no longer opens. I tried searching for a thread on this but couldn't find anything so I guess this just happened to me only? The other day one of my friends tried to get out with no success. windows work fine but when i tried to pull on the handle, nothing happens. On the other working doors you can hear and feel a slight click when pulling on the handle, which opens the door. With the broken door theres no response.
I will most likely contact the dealer today to set up an appointment for tomorrow. This situation sucks and I hope it won't cost me anything :( I didnt even abuse it at all.
If you guys have any experiences with this or give me some advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and enjoy your day.

True, it shouldnt. But i wont be able to go to my original dealership since its too far. Thats what im mostly worried about.
I cant imagine how they would get that door to open. i believe that emergency child lock thing can only be reached when the door is open.

I will definitely give it a try in the morning. If it doesnt work I will go to the dealership near me. Good to know that a different dealership will still honor my warrenty. Thanks everyone for the input. Ill find out what's wrong and post the results on this thread for anyone who might have this issue in the future.

I had the same problem, but it happened to 3 of my doors. I took it to the dealership and they said the door panels were not installed correctly and "said" they fixed it. Couple months later, it happened again. Was going to bring it back in, but I hit a bump and the door opened on it's own (while I was actually driving...with my children sitting at the open door). It just happened AGAIN 2 days ago so my husband took it back to the dealership today and he said they had a hard time getting it open, but they finally did. He was there for at least 2 hours until they finally told him they couldn't find a problem. I know it will do it again and when it does, I will be going to a different dealership because I have had nothing but problems from the one I orginally bought the car from. I was curious if you brought yours in and what they told you?

I have this same problem its on the leftside passenger door, the dealer says they have no idea why this door wont open, so im just gonna cut a hole in the inside panel and see if i can get the child safety to unlock, i feel this maybe the problem after reading common incident here.

There are a lot of issues with plastic parts breaking in the mechanism. Dealers will quote a $700-$800 dollar repair if the child safety lock is on because the inside door panel has to be cut and replaced. Pull the rubber seal away from the door. There is a small hole through the door frame. I sacrificed a small screw driver, bent it at a 90 degree angle, and after a few minutes, managed to flip the child lock switch. Door now only opens from the inside, but will cost much less for the dealer to take the panel off and replace the broken parts. Take a good look at the opposite side to get a good idea of where the switch is.
