I just purchased a 2012 Kia Sportage and Sorrento. I have a Samsung focus and on both cars I can connect it once and it works fine. But when I turn off the car and come back it shows the phone connected for about 10seconds then disconnects. The only way i can get it to stay connected is to delete the profiles from my phone and car and re-pair. Please help. I have a Samsung focus phone.

is it on both cars?
if it is that it might be some setting on the phone itself.

When the phone connects you might have to watch for something to the effect of "connect without confirmation" for the next connection.

Default Hmmmm

No confirmations come up or nothing. I watched it connect for a few seconds and disconnect unless I delete both profiles (phone and car) and re-pair them then it works that time only. My husbands phone works fine and his is older than mine. I have a windows phone (by Microsoft) and uvo is in the Kia also by Microsoft. I'm at a loss

my Blackberry Curve never seems to want to auto-connect. It always asks me for the pairing key. With my older garmin GPS my blackberry had to be prompted to pair with it once, then I entered the passkey and in the future it automatically paired without ever asking me again. I don't understand why the phone won't remember the Sportage to be a trusted connection and automatically pair with it. I've checked all the settings and I can't seem to figure out how to get it to connect without having to enter the passkey everytime.

Have you checked the UVO manual to confirm if your phones are compatible with UVO's bluetooth?

Also, there is an update for the UVO system, you may want to have your dealer apply the update. If you are technically savy, it doesn't look that hard to do. Go to KGIS and create a login and then look up the UVO download for your model and year. There is instructions on how to do it there as well.

You would need to go to Kia's service site: Kia Global Information System (KGIS) and create a login, then search around for the download which looks to be dated 10/28/2011. Now this isn't your normal user's site, so at your own risk...

Default Some info that may help

I have the same problem. I have a Samsung Focus as well. I get the same results when connecting to my 2012 Optima. I tried a few different Windows Phones; three or four Focus phones and an LG Quantum. I bought the car after I had upgraded to Mango (WP7.5) and never was able to get the phone to stay connected except for the first pairing. My dad had a Focus that was still on WP7 and his connected and worked fine. It always connected every time he got in my car. About a week or so ago I finally noticed a pattern with mine. It would connect and work once in a while but I didn't know why. I realized it was when I was on a call. I started calling my voicemail when getting in the car to test the theory and, sure enough, it worked everytime I was on a call. After doing that a few times I didn't care if it connected so I didn't call voicemail but it connected and worked anyway. My phone has since connected and worked great every time I got in the car for over a week.

Until yesterday. It did connect but I tried to listen to music over bluetooth but the car says bluetooth audio is not available. I reset the UVO system and deleted and re-paired my phone and everything worked, even bluetooth audio. Of course, turning off the car and turning it back on left be back where I had started. The phone connects for 10 or so seconds and then disconnects. I'll try the calling voicemail trick again on my next few drives and see if that gets be back to a reliable working phone connection (without bluetooth audio).

My parents just bought a Ford Explorer with their UVO equivalent. All our phones pair with it and reconnect on subsequent drives with no problem at all so I don't know if this is a UVO problem or a Windows Phone Mango problem.
