I realize that. I posted in that thread. I created this thread to not only make sure the size but also offer the deal info up for other members.....
That's exactly my point. If you know a topic already exists, why would you start a brand new one "just to make sure" of an answer that was already resolved?
You can easily add your comments to an existing topic, and it will automatically get bumped up anyway.
For people who do use the search function, its more annoying to have to read several posts on the same topic, rather then get all their info from one post.
And next month, some new user will post the same exact question. And then there will be another speaker/head unit upgrade debate started, and another turbo gasoline debate started. All because people can't use the search function.

CoUple of points..
Forums are not purely for info. They are also very social in nature. So its ok to ask, or talk. Its what ppl like. Or they want the latest info.
Topics evolve. The discussion advances. Threads that are dozens of pages long do NOT need to be ressurected. I dont want year old info.
I bet i can find within your 48 posts examples where you asked questions.. that were not first time original questions. How horrrible... guilty as charged.
Feel free to not read what you consider to be redundant. Some of us just like chatting. And your point about searches/duplication.. has already been discussed previosly in other threads. Dowe have to merge this thread with those?
Ive tackled this issue before, in other forums where i hang out. "Use the search".. is a familiar refrain. But its rife with many pittfalls... hypocisy for one.
Anywho, my rant. No charge.

Well since that's the case (thank you for pointing it out), why do you let it bother you so much, which it clearly does?
After getting snarky replies from a "Lifetime Member" here on 2 threads about wipers I had to look up past threads. Problem is the search feature on here sucks. There is no way to isolate the search within the 3G Sportage forum only. I searched wiper blades and I got hits for crap from the Rio forum, the Cree Forum (What the hell is a Cree?), 2006 Sportage, and then a TON of threads not even pertaining to wipers at all. I think the people complaining about "use the search feature before posting a new thread" should just answer the question, instead of just complaining, or keep their mouth shut. What help is it to be rude and condescending?

i thought there was... click on the forum link and in the title bar, not on the upper lot of title bars, you should see a couple of buttons saying something like Forum Tools and Search this Forum... works ok.
I wonder what the percentage of posts on this board are "do a search" rather than just answering the question. I'd be curious to find out.
Good point! I get rather annoyed at posters that seem to have all the time in the world to criticise others for asking a valid question (even if it has been asked dozens of times prior) but no time to give an answer to the question posted.
If you have time to criticise, you have time to answer . . . surely.
If not, don't respond . . . . unless you are more interested in getting your postings count up by being a d!*k.

You will find a lot of this... in fact, you will get to know a few specific users too. I will tend to start some topics: "I searched but couldn't find information..." but it still gets hits.
