Hehe neonridr I was thinking the same thing, then when i looked it up in KGIS. Found out its a dummy sharkfin antenna... the real optima antenna is builtin the rear window.

Looks good, it looks like itll work with the am/fm and satelite hopefully the GPS... The question is would this fit for our sportage... Ill wait for next year's mods.. Ive spent way too much this year with buying the sportage and all the mods Ive done and its already getting cold. Ill wait for next summer to start adding more stuff... hopefully there would be some sharkfins out for the sportage.

Default shark antenna

Hi
I bought mine from a canadian company
check their site
it fits perfectly on the ex (with sunroof)
I didn,t notice any loss in reception
anyway, I always have a USB drive full of mp3 running
check my pics

this new shark fin antenna was developed specifically for vehicles that have an AM/FM rear-roof whip antenna and a Sirius/XM/OnStar/GPS chip-set antenna integrated into the larger antenna base. Our Mark II antenna will allow you to replace the whip portion of your AM/FM antenna and cover the entire large antenna base on your roof to give it a clean look. Installing this antenna will not hinder the operation of your Sirius/XM/OnStar/GPS chip-set antennas that are integrated into your antenna base. Please click the following links for some sample pictures of our new shark fin antenna:

VG Shark Fin Antenna Mark II

We are happy to announce that we can continue to offer our Mark II version at the same price as our Mark I version, currently priced at $69USD (including painting to your OEM color as usual), plus shipping/handling for $12USD to USA/Canada or $28USD to International locations (including tracking number & insurance). GST & HST applicable for Canadian orders. Lead time is around 1 to 2 weeks before ready for shipping.

Can you take a closer picture of the sharkfin antenna side, rear, front view? I wanna see how fat the base is and fin. So, the reception is the same or better than that of the whip antenna?

I'm still undecided about this but nonetheless, I've inquired with a local dealer about availability and pricing. I hope it doesn't interfere with the wing when the hatch is open...it shouldn't.

I dont think this antenna would interfere with the wing, I have a 3" attached to the base and I have clearance. Looking at the picture on the link it looks like it maybe .5" to 1" above the highest point of the of a diff. model base. And estimating on sim r31's pic of his car, the sharkfin is probably 2"-3" at most including the base. If only they could reply back. I see they have the sharkfin on ebay but its for a different model.

LED (Interior, back up, license plate), 5k lows HIDs, 6k halogen highs, 3k fogs, chrome/amber turn signals, euro running boards, factory painted spoiler, Rebadged, clear rear turn signals, Fiamm horns, husky floormats, window visors, shark fin antenna.
