Default Anyone else getting a weird rattle from the tailgate?

lately i started noticing a weird rattling sound coming from the back of the car when we go over bumps.

i sat in the back and had the wife drive me a round, and i traced it, pretty sure, to something inside the tailgate.

gonna find sometime next month to take it apart and take a look. as this was the one door i didnt touch to put sound proofing onto.

wondering if anyone else have experienced this?

I have it too. However, I think it's coming form the spare tire. Since my car doesn't come with the concealed storage cover; the spare makes some noise. The concealed cover acts as a barrier, which conceals the noise. Well, that's my opinion.

Haha...! I agreed, in the past, I have more problem letting the dealer worked on my car instead of DIY. Unless something that I can't do it myself.

Thumbs down c'mon get real

All you people who think you're going to just go and take your car apart that you just got, you are all idiots. You have a WARRANTY and I'm pretty sure if you start taking that car apart either it'll void out the warranty if not when you decided you can't put it back together I doubt the dealerships will help you. At least wait until the car is outta warranty to take it apart, besides when you take it to the dealership IT'S FREE. Just my opinion.

Hey!!!! we don't need somebody thats just decided to jump onto our forum (3 posts) to say "you are all idiots"!!!!
Keep you opinions to yourself thank you, or at least wait until you've developed some credibility to make the assumption we are all idiots. Choose your words with some subtlety next time.
Welcome here, by the way, and we hope to hear some more intelligent comments from you in the future.

I have been in the car audio installation field for over 15 years, and i take apart interiors on a weekly basis.

and trust me, over the years i have seen my share of dealer related screw ups from taking interior panels apart. for mechanical related stuff? sure, i will go with warranty, but i will NEVER EVER let anyone else, much less a car dealership, touch my own personal vehicle's interior bits.

for verification of what i do, just click on my link in my signature.

and no, removing a door panel or an interior trim panel doesnt void your warranty. you should also know that a lot of "dealer installed" option items are actually performed by third party car audio and/or performance shops. I know becuase the shop i used to have had quite a few such contracts.

I think before you call everyone idiots, you have to take into account that not everyone is as inept as you think they are, and dont assume the dealer will do every kind of work perfectly. or at least be a bit more educated about the whole issue before taking such a firm stand.

Take a look here:

chiedi ad italo

Hyundai ix35 seem to have the same problem. In this case it's a damper problem. Hyiundai is going to change damper on ix35.
