would a better 6th gear give better mpg? i'm thinking the 4th gear's ratio is too similar to 3rd gear. if they lowered the 4th to 1.0 and 5th to .8 and 6th to .65
i noticed on our recent trip to San Antonio Sea World, that cruising in his Sienna at 80 mph, its around 2.3K rpm, and when i cruise at 80mph in my Sportage its higher up, around 2.7K rpm. just wondering. (also, i'm not sure if the LX and EX have different ratios than the SX)
(the gear ratios are rounded off)
'14 Sportage (hwy mpg 28)
1st = 4.2
2nd = 2.6
3rd = 1.8
4th = 1.4
5th = 1.0
6th = .77 (not rounded off)
'15 CX-5 (hwy mpg 33) and my dad's '13 Sienna 3.5L V6 with similar gear ratios (hwy mpg 25)
1st = 3.55
2nd = 2.0
3rd = 1.5
4th = 1.0
5th = .7
6th = .6
