Smart move . . . or nuts!

Booked the Sportage in for it's 75,000km service and wandered over to the showroom (as I always do) to check out what's new - new Sorrento.
Got talking, and was discussing the "new" Sportage due next year and just out of curiosity asked what the change-over price would be on the last of the 3G series.

It arrives in 8 weeks!

So impressed with my current 2010 Sportage diesel Platinum (and put off somewhat with all the techno, totally unnecessary b/s to be included in the 4G) that I decided to stick with what I know (and like) and ordered one of the same after they offered a changeover I found hard to refuse.

Smart move for YOU!

If you like what you currently have, why fix what isn't broken and get a 4G only to find out you don't like it. However I hope you at least got a good deal and incentives because you are essentially taking what would have been a left over model off of their hands.

Some lucky person will inherit your old low mileage Sportage .
You will have the benefit of the most up to date luxury and peace of mind.
The new Euro 6 diesel engines will perform just as reliable as your old engine even with the DPF . They have been used else were for nearly 10 years and any fears of clogging have been overcome with programmed burn outs for those who only do short runs . The have programmed ECU to do burnout as necessary.

Well . . . it's here! Just back from getting windows tinted, and loving it more than the previous one! Much smoother, quieter and more responsive with the added bonus of extra features and a full 7 years warranty to help smooth things over (if there is ever a problem).

So many things I don't like, Jeff. Lane change assist, blind spot monitor, auto braking, park assist, etc., etc. Too much electronics taking over the skill and enjoyment of being a driver, or just making us lazy. Smaller turbo engine possibly requiring more expensive fuel and/or servicing, DSG gearbox.
Then there is the styling - I don't like it. Not like I liked the 3G when I first saw it 5+ years ago. Sure, there are faults, or dislikes, with the current model, but there are surely dislikes with every car out there.
