Smile 2013 Rio5 Auto Transmission..

Just traded my 09 Rio5 in for a 13 Rio5, read through the manuals and checkpoints and such. Manual says that it is recommended to have a Kia dealer check the transaxle fluid, BUT for my own piece of mind, I must know where/if there is a dipstick. Haven't found it on my own yet, anyone else know?

I've browsed the forum for years with my old Rio, first time posting. Thanks!

There is a bolt on the top of your trans thats needs to be removed, and we (Kia dealership) put in a dipstick that we use to check the level. It's a Kia special tool.

Hello, maybe you can help me as this is my first day on the site and I'm in a bit of a situation.

Here's the short version:

It's been a while since I've done an oil change but a friend needed one and I had the time. Unfortunately, I accidentally drained about a liter and a half of her transmission fluid (I bet my screen name makes a lot more sense now, huh?). I already went to the dealer and got the right fluid but I can't figure out how or even where to refill the thing and how to check if I'm adding the right amount. Would you know of a place where I could find the diagram I need? I'd like to just take it to the dealer but I can't even turn the car on because I might cause further damage.

Perhaps there is another thread with the information I need but I'm not very familiar with forums. Hope someone can get back to me, I would love to get my dear friend back on the road.

Thanks in advance!

You need to tell us what sort of car that you're dealing with.

Don't feel too bad; the X2 error would be to not realise that you've drained the transmission and then add 4 litres of oil to the engine. It has happened. I guess you realised that the draining fluid was too clean to be used engine oil?

I could not have chosen a more appropriate screen name haha

I'm working with a 2013 kia rio gdi. 4cyl engine with an automatic transmission.

Yeah, I was under the car and while I'm loosening the bolt I'm thinking "Why is the oil filter so far away? I'm gonna need two drip pans." Didn't realize what I was doing until I see a steady stream of dark pink fluid.
