Hello,

I am hoping for advice on a possible solution to a interesting problem.

I have a 2012 Kia Rio SI Auto 1.6L.

I have had the car less then one week and I have the following problem:

1 - I am unable to turn the A/C off using the button so that normal non cold air can come through the vents.

2 - When i have the air direction toward my face the recirculation button is the only one that lights up. When i press the other button to allow fresh air to come in it does not light up. The fresh air button only works when the selector is in the dash vent setting and the setting that pushes air to the dash and side vents.

I will be calling the service department but I wanted to find out if this is a common issue with the Rio

Thanks

I agree with KCOPE316, that's usually the problem, I don't think you have a problem just not use to how it functions.
We don't know what country you are located in but it sounds like not from North America (we don't have a SI model) but does your set up look like this?

I would also suggest reading your owners manual on operations of your manual climate control system which starts at 4/80 in the US owners manual.

now if you could add that to your Location profile on the left and also at the same time add in the details of what you are driving in DRIVES profile too, it makes it much easier to answer questions when we know these details, as vehicles on not equipped the same worldwide. thanks :D

To turn our ones off you push the last dial in (closest one to our steering wheel). That will switch off any functions you got going except for recycle and rear demister.

The one that is mainly going all the time is the recycle one. When I first picked up mine it had that going too. It may be something they do when they ship them out or part of the dealer inspection to have the recycle thing going.

Its easy to turn off, its the last toggle switch

I have a 2014 model rio since new when running the air con condensation drips down from a pipe above the foot rest on the drivers side onto my foot and the carpet .I have tried all temp ranges including turned right down to almost warm but it doesn't stop.It appears to saturate the foam around the pipe .Kia service say they have never seen this before and have no remedy .Has this problem occurred to anyone else.

The sales agent made a point to show me the max setting for the AC. They had a guy who bought a Sportage and he thought the AC was broken and made a huge fuss about it. When he brought the car in the dealer just moved the dial and the problem was sorted.
