That is correct, I was just wondering if it's worth going to the dealer to get it or would using something like STP work just as well if not better.

The only 'Kia approved' additive I know of you can get over-the-counter is the 12oz Techron you put in the gas tank every oil change. (If you're not using Top Tier gas).

The Techron is the correct one they recommend. You can get it at Walmart.....

Yeah, Techron from a Chevron station is a few bux, but not bad every 7K. I have read page after page of debate about the need for Tech in the GDI. I am cool palying it safe.

Well I am pretty much "old school" on fuel additives, I use Marvel mystery oil in all my cars, and yet to have any injector problems. Marvel mystery oils is not a solvent, rather a detergent oil.
When I was turning wrenches for as living, I even used it on my air tools to keep them clean, bottom line its good stuff.
