I own a 2012 Kia Rio5 SX it came with no spare tire and i was not going to pay the price for a spare donut kit so i bought a 15x6.5 35mm offset 347 bronze wheel made by Voxx wheels off amazon(free shipping, factory lug nuts do not fit this wheel). Today i tried it out and it fits just fine over the 11" caliper/rotor set up, at the same time i figured id check to see if the factory 17x6.5 with stock tires would fit in the spare wheel well and it did without any wiggling or pushing it fit. This means that 185/65r15 and 195/55r16 will also fit, it does not push up on the floor liner, I'm not sure if the screw to secure the wheel will work but the tire fits. On a side not the Voxx wheels with the 35mm offset mine have do stick out just a little to much for my liking and i got a 1.5ton big red scissor jack from pep boys i'll try that out later and let you know how it fits in with the spare tire.
It's hard to understand why KIA would sell a car without a spare wheel. The factory spare would cost them next-to-nothing and, as you have discovered, there's no trouble getting it to fit in the well. KIA Australia provides a spare with each car that they sell, and it's usually a match for the road wheels (i.e. alloy, if fitted), and so can be included in the rotation.
I would suggest that you get a bolt to tie down the spare. You don't want 40+ pounds of metal+rubber flying around if you have a roll-over. Factory jack usually sits in a urethane insert fitted inside the spare; probably not an option for your after-market jack.
Kia now offers a spare tire kit. $99.00 gets you a: wheel, jack, lug wrench, handle for wrench and the foam holder that they all fit into. Tire is also $99.00. I will mount and balance the tire/wheel and ship to anyone in the USA cheap.

Is this a space saver spare or a full size wheel and tire?
