I was up near the NSW border over Christmas and the weather was beautiful. With working out the fuel economy properly, i got 6.24L/100 on the way back from Albury to Melbourne. That's the best i've ever got in it by far. Bear in mind this is 110KM/h and the traffic was bad with lots of wind also. Love the economy this thing gets.
Here are just a couple of shots i took of it while up North, covered in bugs.
Hey just finished reading your thread. Very interesting. I've just purchased a 2012 rio SLS in white. I love it! I'm trying to buy some sls mag wheels for a trailer I'm building to tow behind my SLS. If you hear of anyone upgrading their wheels or of any sls being wrecked for parts could you keep me in mind. Thanks!

i've discovered that the Rio has the safety feature that some other modern cars have where the cruise control won't engage until you've pressed the brakes at least once. It's easy to drive off in a manual without pushing the brakes, even if you reverse sometimes. Once you've tapped it, the cruise will then engage. This is often because the brake light circuitry controls the cruise control cancel function. So it checks to make sure the circuit is intact before letting you engage cruise.
cruise won't operate below a certain speed anyway on mine it will only function above 40 kmph or 25 mph.
yes that's right, it's 40KM/h on every car I've owned in this country also
but this is a separate deal. If i start the car, accelerate to 100 and try to invoke cruise, it won't set unless the brake has been pushed once to test the circuit.
i need it to work at 10KM/h so i can set it in car parks in first lol
the manual Rio loves to buck like a wild bronco against compression.. the steadiest of feet won't hold it back
Agreed!! Totally and absolutely 100% HATE 1st gear in the Rio.
I only have two pet hates with the car so far....one is 1st gear and the other is hill start assist when in reverse. It appears to take longer to release when in reverse, its horrible.
Maybe I shall ask about it when my first service comes around.
