Greetings to all (most specially 2012 Sportage SX owners) !!!
I am from South Carolina and drive a 2012 Sportage SX fwd that I purchased new back in August of 2011. Around late October of last year, I noticed that there are times that not all the lights on the speedometer were not coming on. The lights on the mph indicator are always on but the lights on the kmh indicator (which are smaller compared to the mph indicators) has not been staying on all the time. I did not notice this until one morning when I was on my way to work and I hit a bump and all of a sudden, the lights on the speedometer became brighter, and that's when I noticed that it was because of the lights for the kmh indicators had come on.
Long story short, the service adviser at the dealership agreed with me after checking on the speedometer lights on another SX that they happened to be working on. The first instrument cluster that they ordered last November failed (lights quit working right after hooking it up). They had just installed the second unit, after a long wait, last week.
Well, the lights for the kmh indicators still did not come on. Is anybody else having the same problem or not? I stopped by again the dealership to show them the damage to the dashboard ( small cut, paint chipped on a corner above the push button start and scuff marks). I saw another SX on the service lot and we did the comparison and the SX on their service lot has the same problem. Kmh indicator lights were not on either.
Can somebody check on this if it is a problem on some or all 2012 Sportage SX?
