I have been waiting since 9/23 for my local kia dealer to get my correct seatback in(SX sport trim). I called them today and they said that there arent any in the US they have to import one in from Korea.
I dropped the car off on the 22 and they installed the incorrect one even though the color and fabric wasnt even close.
This is getting ridiculous........2 weeks now and still Im waiting.
They told me it would be there in a week.

Yesterday I asked the kia dealer to check the status of my seatback.Today I get a voicemail from Savage Kia stating that they dont know how long it will take to get the seatback in. There arent any in the United States and it has to be imported from Korea.(Do I have the only rio5 sx in the states??) So I asked if he could take one off another car on the lot and them replace it when the one from korea finally came in and he said "no, we dont have another car here with that interior.I did check their website and according to the site ,they do, so someone is calling for me tomorrow and acting like they want to buy the car to see if it has the sx sport interior."I asked what about from another Kia dealer and he said "we dont do that",they cant sell a car with a missing seatback". I said I already bought a car from you, i am a current customer not a potential customer.Who cares if they cant sell a car to a potential customer. Then I asked him to expidite the shipping or possibly overnite it. He said ,he cant do that and theyre doing everything they can.
Really, cause it sounds like to me im getting jerked around.
I question their entire service department, how can i trust these guys to service anything mechanical on the car when they are either colorblind, stupid, or dont give 2 shits.
Cmon red and black seats and you replace one of them with a white and black seat.
If it turns out they have a rio or rio5 there with red/ black seats look out tomorrow cause im going down there.
Damn interesting situation.The only reason i was considering getting the sx was for the red trim seats...But it was either have a car payment or pay it in full...so i paid full the economy is to bad to have debt especially for a college student.Why didnt you have the correct seat in the first place? Make em feel bad have em throw in something like a sway bar or free tires and brakes when you need em. Hey may work in your advantage!
Funny you say that RioTuner. I am also a college student but I didn't want the SX (I actually don't care for the red trim); however, they could not find me a black LX. So he gave me the SX package for just $500 more than the LX. I got a deal eh?
Yeah not bad at all. I do like the sx trim..but the ones i found were all automatic. After have stick in my previous car i couldnt go back to automatic.
I received a call this morning stating that my new seatback has finally arrived, just a week and a half late, and if I could get the car to them before 5 they could do it today otherwise id have to wait untill friday. So after work i rushed over there to have them install this new seatback. I get there and ask the service manager if its the right one this time, cause im sick of driving down there every couple of weeks for the same damn problem.He tells me yes its the sx sport trim seatback ,its red and black. OK.
They pull the car into the garage bay and install my new seat, which only took about 10 minutes
Pull the car out and I go out to make sure its in good condition, no fabric bubbling away from the foam as was my original seat.
It was a red and black seat back, but it wasnt the correct one for my car, again.
My seats have vertical patterns on them,thats where the red shows through.
The one they put in had a horizontal red and black pattern on it.And a completely different feel to it too. Did KIA change the pattern half way through the model year?, I dont know.
At this point I am completely livid and told them to put my original f'd up seat back in there until a competant individual could order me the right f'n one.
a bunch of curse words came outta my mouth and honestly i was so pissed off i dont really remember what i said.
They said they were gonna order me ANOTHER seat back, again, for the third time (from Korea), and they would keep trying until they get the correct one. I told them they only had one more chance, then i was gonna call the BBB and write a letter to KIA.As I was getting ready to leave, I saw a new (2008) silver Rio5 SX on their lot. I drove over to the car and took a peek inside the window.
That car had the CORRECT red/black seat back that I needed for my car.
What they dont know is I was on their website last night and saw a silver rio5 sx listed there, then told my wife to call them this morning and act like she was interested in the car to find out what color interior it had. She did call and was told that it has the silver and black interior. Those scumbag liars!
So I go back in and tell them I was poking around their lot and found the seatback on there lot, THE WHOLE FU**ING TIME !!!
I told those pieces of s**t to take that seatback off the brand new car and put it in mine.
After a few minutes of yelling and screaming they agreed, and now I got my correct seatback after waiting over a month total for them to order 2 incorrect seatbacks.
I would still be waiting if i hadnt poked around and found it on my own.
Un friggin believable.

Wow. Sorry you had so much trouble. Obviously after your warranty is up you won't be dealing with them anymore. I'll bet anything that they took your jacked up seat and put it in the new car. Haha. Shady bastards.
Wow what shannanigans they put you through over a seat! I guess it shows how shady some people are. I would still write that letter...But still glad to hear you got your seat.
