Ya looks like they widened the doors to get rid of some of the window space to make it more non-bubbly. It does look better. The suggested price is $14,550 US. Still pretty high for a base model compared to the Kia. My Rio5 Sport automatic was $13,500 US. Our Rio body stylings are a bit older (first seen in '06 model); I am sure the next gen will look more updated. Anyone know when the next gen will is going to come out?

According to the EPA website, the '09 Rio gains 1 MPG in city driving than the '08 and earlier Rio. Maybe some tweaking of the computer. Also the '09 model has a new radio that looks like it makes working with mp3's better according to photos on the Kia site.

I think mine is plastic as well, but you can't tell because it is painted the same color as the car. No one would even know that it is plastic. Are you just afraid of pulling it back too hard and breaking it or something?

These are not really complaints, just a few creature comforts that I got used to that are not on my rio.
The gas mileage is great and so is the ability to zip through traffic. im still adjusting to my little car.

paid my car 9995.00 cdn, 2008 base EX....added 15`lite mags + wide tires
i do 7L/100kms combined : (40mpg imp.)
handling is surprising,comfort is a-1...only 2 gripes
1) car runs 3000 rpm at 6omph (why not 2500) like the auto
2) the manul tranny shifter is the sh.... that things is sloppy

otherwise: at $10,000 :best bang for the buck by far! the honda fit is $15,000 base & the versa $14,500 in canada that is !
