Default Emblem and grill question

Hello to all of you, I am new here.

I want to take off all my emblems on my new '08 Rio5 but was not sure if they are mounted with anything other than double sided tape. Some emblems on cars are mounted with pegs that fit into slots that are cut out of the body so that the workers can manually line up the emblems easier. Obviously I don't want to fill any holes so I was just wondering if anyone new for sure before I start taking them off.

Also, I was wondering if there were any aftermarket grills for this car that does not have any emblems. I saw the one on kia-fx.netfirms.com am not too fond of it.

Thanks

I believe there are 3-4 grills available all together after some hard core searching, and the ones that have emblems, its an option. You dont have to stick them on if you dont want to. I did with mine and then painted over the chrome it came in and made it black.

As far as the pegs question. Yes. There are three pegs. I debadge and relocated my rio emblem to the center trunk spot. Looks sweet.

Thank you. I actually spotted that chrome one today as well. I was thinking of painting it black. Not sure yet.

Obione, so does only the oval Kia emblem have pegs? The spot for the Rio does not?

Thanks again.

Correct, the rio comes off easy on a hot day, but be carefull if you wish to keep it in one peice. And the oval ones have the pegs. The oval one was SOB to get off.

Cool. Thanks both of you. Taking emblems off can be tricky. I do it at work sometimes before I apply vinyl decals. I just wanted to make sure which ones have pegs. I wish none of them did. Now I have to figure out what I am going to do after taking off the Kia emblem. I think I am going to get the "Pride" emblem from Korean Auto Imports and either cover the writing with vinyl and make my own design or just paint it.

I removed the emblem off the back of my Sorento and went to a store here in florida called "Drivers Seat" and ordered a new emblem for it. They can make anything you want. Im getting my initials. The guys suggested I make the mercedes emblem because the Sorento looks just like a mercedes SUV. The cost was $20. And there was 2 posts and lots of double sided tape under the orginal emblem. The guy at the store did cover the orginal holes with tape so that water doesnt get down there and put the new emblem on with double sided tape. Good luck.
