Default I want more music!

I have an issue that I think someone on this site might be able to help me out with. I really, really like listening to music. The problem is, my 2007 Kia Rio5 SX has a cd player, but nothing else. I would die for an auxiliary port, or a tape player, because then I could hook up my MP3 player, and have more music at my disposal. I enjoy my CD Player, but it still bothers me having to screw around finding a CD or only having 18ish tracks before I have to change.

So, basically, I am wondering if anyone knows any tricks to solve my problem. I bought a pretty expensive FM transmitter, but that did not work well at all. Sound quality was horrible, so thats out of the question. I am wondering if I could possibly find a Kia stock head unit that has an AUX port, so I could use that an not void my warranty. Or even a stock head unit with a tape player so I could get one of those cassette tape with a cord adapter, because those work just as good. Anyone got any Ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

Personally I'd go for a non-stock head unit - generally the non-stock after market head units are far superior and cheaper.

Installing a non-stock head units will not impact on your warranty.

What about the warranty on the speakers? Right now I have a blown front passenger side speaker, and I am almost positive that as long as I have a Kia HU in they will replace the speaker for free, but if I have anything not stock, they wont replace it. Am I right?

That will vary from dealer to dealer. My dealer treats me pretty good and has worked around my aftermarket stuff in the past. I have heard that other wont.

That looks like a nice deck, but 500 dollars! Anything else mp3 compatible that is a little cheaper that you know about? The bluetooth cellphone isnt a big deal to me, my musics usually too loud to talk on the cellphone anyway! lol

I use an FM transmitter with my iPod and it sounds great. The key is that you can't crank the volume on the iPod all the way up. Keep it at around 3/4 and turn up the car stereo instead. Also, make sure you find a nice clean empty frequency to use.

What brand FM transmitter do you have?

I had a Monster brand for several years and it was reasonable. . But there are a lot of external factors such as local stations, reflection from buildings, power lines and such.

I use the Griffin iTrip. It's an older model for the 3G iPod, works very well. The only problems I encounter is when someone passes me on the road while they are using one, and I will pick up their signal briefly. I have also found that I get better reception when I have the iPod plugged in to my car charger (also by Griffin). I believe that Griffin makes a combo deal now (charger and transmitter all-in-one) for newer generation iPods.
