Angry Rio Air Conditioning

Bought 2007 Rio new. 3 months later, AC fading in and out-blowing but not cool. Took it in--"Can't find anything wrong". Winter came. Summer's here now, AC blowing hot. Took it in, kept it all day..."can't find anything wrong"---after heated discussion and frustration, dealer kept the car three days only to tell me a wire was loose when they did the "jiggle" test. Driving home, car started blowing hot. Took it in a third time this week..."switch box" to the compressor. Kept it two days, tells me it's fine. Well, that's up for discussion and I'm just waiting here in Texas. I've told them this is the third time for the car with 12,000 miles on it.

Might be worthwhile to become familiar with your state's lemon law.

Lemon laws help you with a faulty car not a faulty dealership. Has it ever blown ice cold air. If not take it to an independent mechanic and ask them to check it. Have the mechanic look at it and diagnose the problem, don't have that mechanic fix the problem. Take the car to Kia along with you bill stating the problem from the independent mechanic, ask them to look over the car again and make sure it is fixed properly when you pick up the car. If the car is not repaired when you return to pick it up (ie. test it before you even move the car). Speak with the service manager and if that does not help, speak with Kia America. The best thing to do would be get a second opinion at a different Kia dealership if at all possible.
