Default Intake and exhaust systems for the 2006 Rio?

Hi all,

I am thinking about exhausts and intakes for the 2006 Rio. Does anyone produce a CAI kit or cat-back exhausts for this car yet?

Space looks pretty limited for a CAI without relocating the battery (or going with a smaller battery). The air intake for the stock airbox looks sooooo restrictive. Maybe I could just change that out with a K&N drop in... Is the K&N drop in filter the same as the 2005 Rio? Their website does not list one for the '06 yet.

If there are not any available exhaust systems yet I will probably just put on a universal Magnaflow. I like the 14815 as seen here: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=761
You can pick them up online for $152, which doesn't sound so bad...

Just curious,

Yeah, there isn't much space there for an intake! I'm interested to see how Hyundai pulls this one off - allegedly one of the numerous accessories for the new Accent available directly from Hyundai includes a CAI. Don't know a cost or the availability though.

I haven't seen the Rio's engine bay up close to see whether it has the same intake, but it may. Everything looks the same to me though, except for the name on the engine cover.

I know for sure that it is NOT. I ordered the drop-in filter for the 2005 about 2 months ago...it didn't fit. The 2005 and 2006 airboxes are different. It looks like the 2006 year box is slightly smaller than the 2005.
