Default 2006 Rio stereo questions

Hi all,

I just purchased my new Rio a week ago and am looking to improve on the stereo.

A couple of questions:

1) What are the speaker sizes in the sedan? I am guessing 6 1/2" in the front doors? How about the rear deck?

2) Who makes the stock head unit and how much power does it put out?

3) To get to the front speakers, I have to pull the whole door panel, right?

I actually don't mind the look and operation of the stock head unit, so my plan is to first put in a decent sub and upgrade the speakers. Then down the road pop in a double DIN DVD/Nav unit...

BTW, this is an LX without any extra options (other than floor mats), if that matters at all.

Thanks,
Hollywood

Just what I needed, thanks!

I'm hoping the stock HU will be able to push a set of aftermarket speakers well enough with the help of a sub on the low end...

Thanks,

Queation 1: The speakers in front and rear is only 6"...Not 6½".
have change them all to 6½, but with a little mod to the standard speaker plastic. The one that the speaker is mountet on.

Queation 3. Your right. And it's easy. Just remember ALL the screws.

Is there a wiring diagram available, or would anyone know off the top of their head?

I am just wondering which lead is positive and which is negative on the speakers? I see the ones in the rear deck just have a yellow wire and a black wire. I am assuming the black is the negative. Will the fronts be the same? I'd rather not take the door panels off before knowing...

Thanks!

Yeah, ignore that speaker wire question, the speakers themselves are marked. As I suspected, the black wire is negative.
