Hello, i recently purchased a 06 rio, and just pick up a fold down monitor from ebay, and i was wondering what is the best way to install the monitor??
the only wiring that is came with was a + and - power wires, and some RCAs

the instructions suck and dont tell me anything about how to install the unit.
do i need to remove the entire headliner? and can i use the power going to the rear dome light?

If anyone can help me that would be awsome, or just posting a link to a page with some good instructions would be great too.

thanks

do u have a aftermarket deck or factory. if u do have a aftermarket deck hook up the + positive wire to the remote wire on your deck and u can also use the - nagitive wire with the ground on your deck to if there long enough if. I wouldn't use the dome lamp wires because the fuse mite be to weak and burn out. You well have to hook up the RCA wires to the deck anyways providing you have a dvd player deck. If it has a dvd slot in the monitor i well still hook up the wires the same way. But the RCA jacks have to plug into a line in on the deck. So well your running those run the + and - wires with the RCA, thats how i did mine and have had no problems at all. but the only way u can use the screen is only when the deck is on but my deck has the dvd option, but if its with the screen u can hook up the postive to the 12v constent power wire then with the power button u can turn it on or off with the car off.

You will have to remove the entire headliner. You mite have to cut a little

I do have an aftermarket deck, no DVD tho, i was gunna use a PS2 and mount it under the passanger seat.
i also have subs and an amp in the truck, is it possible to use the amp power and ground as an alternate power source, and wire in a fuse myself?? or would that be to much power, there is no max wattage warning for the monitor just max 12 volt.

you should be find doing it that way because the power wire is a 12volt the thick one. then hook up the ground to the ground wire.
