The problem is that I can find tons of stuff for the 2005 Rio but nothing for the 2006... Or are the floormats the same for models 2005 and 2006?

No, they are slightly different fit. Go to http://www.kiaparts.com/ and give them a call to check on availability of mats for the newest Rio.
