Thumbs up

Here in the US the Rio LX sedan does not come with fog lights. Can the fog lights from the Rio5 be easily added to the sedan?

I don't know if it's possible or not, but let me tell you this: The fog lights in my Rio5 are useless. They don't really make a difference at all in the fog. In fact, it's a little hard to tell if they're on or off. You might consider that before you spend a bunch of money and start cutting holes in your car.

I agree with you, fog lights for the most part are useless. I just like the way they look. I also think it makes the car look more expensive than it really is.

I have to say, I think the fog lights on my Rio5 are quite useful. Without them, I would not be able to see the two foot area in front of my bumper!
Seriously though, I wonder if they are just not aimed right. I can't even tell where they are pointing because they won't come on unless the head lights are on. Any thoughts on improving them?

You can try brigher bulbs but then you run the risk of melting the housing or wires. You can try a different color of bulb, like yellow, for some reason yellow lights on a car to me seem brighter. Or you could try aiming them if they are adjustable at all.

The original KIA Rio5 fog lamps are already out in the market, not sure if it's available in the US yet. Check out this site :

That site makes it sound like it that fog light kit doesn't come with wiring. Is the car prewired for them?

I stuck my head under the bumper today, with the hopes of seeing an obvious adjustment screw or something like that. Has anyone been able to adjust they way they point?

I did got a quote from them before, it costs S$180 (approx. 110.925 USD) inclusive of installation in Singapore.

However over here we did not really need this feature here, as there's no fog but just occasional heavy monsoon rain. The traffic police don't even encourage people to on their fog lights unless visibility is poor.
