I have an optima and sedona, and at the dealership while getting one fixed I saw the 2006 rio advertises 38 mgh highway, has anyone gotten that type of gas mileage (standard engine, in the us there isn't many choices). And is it the same car as the Hyundai Accent since they're one company?
Thanks
Mr Curious

I got an '06 Rio last week, with the auto tranny. It did 25 mpg on the first tank. About 5% highway driving...FYI. I'll keep you posted.

I took delivery of a 2006 Rio 1.6 auto on Monday and I'm amazed how good it is considering the cost! The new Rio is built on the upcoming 2006 Hyundai Accent platform.

I haven't had time to check fuel consumption yet but when it's run-in I guess it will be up there with the best of them as it has the latest CVVT motor from Hyundai.

The only thing the 2006 Rio shares with the older Rio is the name!

Cheers, Rick

I have a co-worker that has a 06 Rio5. His numbers for gas milage have been in the low 30's and he does both city and highway driving. Its an auto.

as i said in the other forum about this

after i broke mine in we took a trip from richmond va to homosassa springs florida, bout an hour north of tampa, and i only filled up like 4 times filling up at a half a tank every time
so yeah this car gets really good highway gas mileage.
also i dog my car in the city and I still only spend about 20 bucks a week in gas
