One of my co-workers just purchased a pair of 06 Kia Rio 5's. One for him and one for his wife. He asked me a question which I didnt have an answer for so thats why Im in this forum. Underneath the radio there is a little slot that is just big enough to slide a credit card in. What is this used for?

According to this review, it's for parking slips.

the interior is well thought out with nice touches like a slot in the centre of the dash for parking tickets
I don't see how that would be useful, as you normally have to display your parking slip on the dash. I haven't found much use for it yet.

The slot is for cards , eg in Singapore , we might use a card to enter a car park and this is a handy place to slip one in , whilst not in use .

Darn, just when I thought I hit the jackpot! All this time I thought I was the only one who had my own personal ATM in the car...never could get the thing to work.

The dealer told me that the slot is for toll road cards or any other item that can fit in the slot for holding. The driver side visiors have credit card holders also.

I swear that some Kia engineer just tossed it in there for the simple pleasure of knowing how much confusion and debate it would cause.... Or to hold my work swipe card...

It's gotta be one of the goofiest things I've ever seen stock in a car. And I like mine a lot!! I use a parking card at work and it's way more convenient than the visor.

A friend has a Chevy Aveo or whatever, kind of a bronze colored base model. Ugly little thing... anyway, his came with one- in the door!! WTF?!

But everyone always asks, first-time in
