2010 V6. Just turned 7500 miles. No issues except when cold start the solid lifters make tapping noises for about 30 seconds. The car does pull to the right from time to time. Very odd. I do average 28mpg on the highway.
Does your V6 make tapping noises from the solid lifters at cold start?
What OE tires are you driving on? I have a set of Goodyears.
I have Goodyear Eagle LS tires. They are down to the treadwear indicator. Rotated every 10,000 miles. I can't believe they are still as quiet as they are. I have the upgraded 17" wheels. I will be buying this same tire again. Very impressed with them.
I have the exact same car. Color and all. So, when your start your engine on a cold morning there is no tapping noise from the solid lifters?
Mine will tap for about 25 seconds. Runs find when doing it and runs fine when warm. Dealer says nothing other than it was low on oil when I dropped it at 5000K for the first oil change. That was nonsense. I checked the oil the day prior to the oil change. It was full. Plus checked the oil when it first started making the cold start tapping noise. At all times the crankcase was full.

Well it's been 107-109 every day here for about the past 2 months. I'm trying to think back to winter and still don't ever recall any ticking or tapping noises and I pay attention. I do change my own oil and use Quaker State 10w-20 with K&N oil filters. Maybe your valves need to be adjusted? I would take it to another Kia dealer for a 2nd opinion.
The next oil change is in 2500 miles. I will take it then. There is no performance issues. Once the noise stops at about 30 seconds there is no noise at all but injectors doing their thing. There is no noise the rest of the day unless it sits for 4+ hours. The oil drains to the pain and takes some time to circulate to the heads. The dealer did my oil change at 5K. Synthetic 10-20 was used. KIA filter installed. Personally I think they were sending me out the door because when they called stating the oil change was complete there was no mention of the tapping. I pick up the paperwork and noted is lack of oil in the crank case. The oil was not low. The engine does not burn oil. Every time I check it the oil shows on the full mark. Personally I think some engines make the solid lifter noise when cold. The Forte make noise when cold. Who knows. I will mention it again on my second oil change. Other than that, the car is great. It feels dependable and solid. That is all that matters.
'09 Ex V6, 43,000 miles. OE tires are just about done. Great car other than my 5th Infinity radio is on order right now. I'm averaging 23 mpg.
I bought my Magentis with 29K and in the last 15 months have taken it to 66K, average 2400 per month. Whilst we're on the subject of tyres my fronts are well worn and I've got some replacements on order
Drives: 10 Optima LX, 95 Astro AWD, 03 Monte Carlo
Got my 10 LX 2.4 in January, just went over 4k miles. Still haven't got it on the highway to see what mileage it will get, but am averaging 23 commuting to work. I don't have very far to drive, and I have another vehicle, so I don't rack up the miles like most other people. The main reason I got the car is for it to be the baby hauler. It was cheap and should be a good car for the next 6 years or so.
Installed vent shades and mud flaps. Am looking for a set of wheels, but not in a hurry. I would like to test fit a set of 18" Soul wheels. I know the bolt pattern and hub size is the same, but the offset is different and I don't know if it will be a problem
