Default Fabric on door panel

Has anyone else had the fabric on the inside door panel come off? My 09 with under 6k miles is having this problem. The right rear door fabric is coming off. It looks like the glue holding it on is total crap. The other 3 doors seem fine with no signs that the glue is letting go. This really pisses me off that a car this new is already having interior issues. I may just try and glue it back myself and tuck the edges back in because I know the dealer technicians aren't very good with interior parts.. I can see greasy finger prints or scratches on the plastic after it's over with and I just don't feel like fighting it. I'm just curious if any other 06.5-09's have had this happen.

haven't had this happen, '07 38k

and honestly if your car is under warranty, just bring it to a different dealer. they have an obligation to fix the issue for you. if they can't to your satisfaction just call Kia and they will address it for you.

easy fix

Didn't have it come off, but on our '08 when we returned from a trip to Florida last year and the car sat in the sun for a week, when we opened the car at midnight, it reeked of mold. The car was brand new. I did some sniffing around and located it to be coming from the driver's side door panel. Long story short, it was the padding behind the fabric that was moldy. All was changed when we installed the Katzkin leather interior. I still have the mold infested padding in the garage, but it needed to be put in 2plastic bags to contain the odor.

Nope, the fabric on my interior door panels is fine on my '06.5 with 40k miles. I haven't heard of anyone having this issue. Sounds like you got a random quality issue. It happens. My Mom bought a brand-new '07 GMC Canyon truck and after 1 year and 8k miles one of the door hinge nuts fell off. Obviously it just wasn't screwed on tight enough at the factory. Since you paid all that money to buy a brand-new car and this shouldn't have happened, I'd seriously bring it to the dealer. Make it their problem.

I've Seen 2 With The Same Issue.....first Was Brought In By A Customer That Just Bought New...rear Door Trim Panel Bolsters Were Pulling Out....we Pulled A New One Off The Lot To Swap Panels To Get Him Fixed That Day And It Had Issues Too. My Tech Was Able To Fix Without Leaving Any Marks. I Would Suggest Taking To Dealer To Fix, If Kia Doesnt Get A Warranty Claim The True Scope Of The Issue May Not Get Noticed/resolved.

I'm curious to know what got it all moldy in the first place? Did you leave your window down when it rained or was there a leak from somewhere? Padding doesn't just get moldy on it's own accord.
