Default HID install*Updated with pics*

So I have a 8000k HID kit to install on the optima today. I wanted to make sure I had all the information I needed before I started. I glanced at the headlights a couple days back and was wondering how in the world do you change the bulbs out of the low beams. There look to be some caps over the sockets. I wasnt sure if I would have to modify those so I could run the HIDS though them.

If anyone has any pics of a HID install on your optima it would be a great help to me.

Thanks much

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics , Ill get some better ones using my camera tonight.

Installation was pretty easy , I had to modify the bulb caps to run the ballast wires through them ,and I unfortunatly dropped the driver side cap down into the bay. I hasnt come out and I have no idea how to get out.

Anyone have a part number or price for one of those

Anyone try an HID install on an 08? The 08 has a H11B low beam and I can't find a SINGLE after market replacement let alone HID. I'd order the appearance package 07 lights that use H7 but that would cost a fortune.

Are you 100% sure you have the H11b's ?

I looked at the manual and it had both H11b and H7 listed as low beam replacements. As far as I know my 06.5 and up all have the same headlight assemblies . Someone please correct me if Im wrong.

I wish that were the case but unfortunately it's not. In 08 they switched over to the nearly impossible to find H11B. Not a single store stocks them and there's not a single after-market replacement. You can go to OSRAM SYLVANIA - Replacement Guide - Start and see. I was pretty unhappy when I found this out. I was wanting to get Sylvania Silverstar ULTRA's but they don't make them for H11B.

Where did you get those and how much did they set you back? I like the way they look. Do you know how long they last?
