Cool a few cheap things seems to make a little more speed

(don't laugh), i put a tornada k-70 model in my 07 optima 2.4 and also mounted a cone filter to the filter side of my maf sensor. it definitely seems to be a bit perkier. i plan on putting a twin loop muffler on soon as well as EBC cross drilled rotors and EBC green pads on the front. The tornado cost 65$ and the filter was about 40$. Both can be found at auto zone. I need more ideas. One more thing, does anyone know if it is safe to put nitrous on this car because of the variable timing it has. If this car advances timing while nitrous is being used, there goes the motor and a few thousand dollars with it.

I would pull the tornado and test it with just the filter. I'd bet you're not getting anything but placebo effect from it.

For the rotors, get them only for appearance reasons. Otherwise, they won't give you any improved performance and will speed the wear of your pads. The pads will do the job of improving performance. (speaking from experience here) Slotted rotors do help with wet braking, but that's about it.

Define SAFE with nitrous? Using nitrous WILL damage your engine. The only point to argue is will it damage is slowly or suddenly.

If you inject the nitrous BEFORE the MAF it will limit the possibility of the engine running too lean.

Completely agree with prior comment on the tornado. I put a drop in K&N in my 04 2.4 and noticed an immediate difference in throttle response.

Also agree with comment on drilled rotors. They do not increase braking power, and often actually INCREASE stopping distances since you have LESS surface area = LESS friction. Cheap drilled rotors are also suseptible to cracking because they are not heat treated after drilling. The stress concentrations caused by the drilling and the heat cycling normal to a rotor do not mix well.

Tornado's are the laughing stock of the tuning community. Throw it in the garbage. They do nothing but block air flow. And, if it breaks, it will destroy your engine.

The tornado was stupid, i was just in such a hurry to do something, that i made myself believe it would work. So, since there's nothing really being made yet to increase horsepower i've started working on chassis things such as EBC front brake pads(red stuff), EBC rotors front and back(in the mail), Intrax springs (in the mail), KSPEC front strut bar. Next thing done will be a roadruns grill and a ScanGuageII installed. So, i guess i've got plenty to do while i wait on the engine upgrades to come out. Thanks for everyone's input. I need to delete a thread I started, it is a thread that was started with haste and it is a repetitive one. Anybody know how to delete a thread, please let me know how. Thanks, Mike

Here are the best few websites i have found for our cars: koreanautoimports.com kspec.com you can find H and R springs at tirerack.com i think i got the brake pads from autoanything.com The best brake upgrades for this car are made buy EBC. You can find EBC rotors and pads everywhere on the internet, just google that shat. If you find anything special on any other sites please post it here.
