Default Cruise Control

I have a 2006.5 Optime EX 2.4L. With cruise control set at 70 MPH on the Interstate, the transmission downshifts to maintain speed on relatively small inclines. If I control the throttle manually, I have no problem maintaining speed without downshifting. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know if there is some sort of adjustment that will correct the situation.

Most cruise control units do this, its not uncommon.

This happened on my old subaru legacy auto trans, it drove me nuts and I almost never used it except on long flat stretches of interstate. My only stipulation in searching for a Kia was, MUST BE A MANUAL TRANS!

I know it's not a wonderful solution, but why not try the "hold" function on the AT once you're in top gear and you engage the CC.
