Default 2006.5 Optima tranny

I've had my 06.5 Optima for about a week now and I notice that when I put it into Drive it just sits there for about 5-6 seconds and then finally goes into Drive and I can move the car. Is this normal? Anyone else have this happen? Anyone else have this car?

I didn't notice a delay when driving a demo at the dealer. You should have it checked out. Probably an easy adjustment.

Defitnitely not normal. It seems A/T fluid is not reaching the solenoid to engage the gears. Have dealer check it out. Does this happen even when the engine is hot/warm or only when cold?

It seems that it's worse when cold. It does it at other times but it is really bad at times when I first start it up and pull into drive... It seems that it is better than it was, really... It now clicks into drive in about five seconds or so, still long enough that I've almost been hit a coupla times.

5-6 seconds? Most definately not normal! Get it checked by your local dealer and fixed.
