I have a 2006.5 Kia Optima with the TPS integrated into the throttle body. Car is not under warranty and there are no recalls for our VIN. Dealer states that the TPS cannot be replaced and that the whole throttle body has to be replaced at $436.00 plus labor. I find this to be a little crazy. It appears you can buy the actual TPS part online. Is this true? If so, then where, what is the part and what needs to be done to fix it. I have attached a pic of what our model looks like. Can anyone provide information on how to fix this??? Car looses power occasionally. I can restart the car once or twice and it works for a while. Local parts store hooked it up and the code states TPS is bad.
THANKS!!
I its availble as a separate item order it and get a service manual to make sure its installed and adjusted correctly. No need topay the dealership to do a "simple" repair...
The part number is 351073E100NFFF
But there is an ecu update that goes with it that will cure some oxygen sensor erroneous codes as well. You can just do the Tps without the update. It is a plug and play part, no adjustment needed.
