I had the same problem with my old car, all I did was simply unscrew the front speaker(s) so that I could see the wiring

Yeah I see your point, but I dont see any other way, maybe starting with the speakers in the trunk? A little easier and you could sit in the trunk whilst you do it

go to a kia dealer ... the service area should have the car service manual

just politely ask if you could consult it for your reason .....

Default Speaker wiring

I have a 2007 Rio 5, and have been having the same problem with the stereo color code I went to "kiatechinfo.com" and they show the following.

Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Red
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Green
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): White
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Black
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Red
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Blue
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Green
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Orange
Only one problem. I have one wire coming from the new radio marked"illuminatio"wire.
The diagram provide by Kia shows 2 wires with a Pos. and Neg marked as ïlluminations. I haven't figured it out yet

Did you end up getting it to work?? I was trying to install a line output converter in my '08 rio5 today and am having alot of trouble. Everything else has gone perfectly except for the converter.

I ran a power wire from the battery down the running boards along the driver side right through to the trunk, I ran the rca's and remote wire along the running boards on the passenger side. I found a nice ground point underneath the backseats. Now my amp has power but the subs are VERY low, there is sound coming from them but very low.
