Trying to connect my Android to my 2009 Kia Rio for music

Hello!

I've been having issues trying to connect my Galaxy S5 to my Rio. My AUX input sounds awful, but using the same cord and phone in another car sounds perfect. I tried using the USB port with a brand new cord but after thinking for a while it just displays the message "Unable To Read". I know about the special Kia cord but I can only find ones designed for iphones, and I'm worried about spending money on a bluetooth device only to find it doesn't work.
If you could just point me in the right direction I would be super grateful!

This lets you plug a USB device into the usb cable. However, any device that's "high draw", meaning iPhones, many high capacity or older USB keys, and sadly, most android devices, will just either flash charging / not charging rapidly, or display "Unable to read"

It's a stereo designed in 2006, not fully compatible with power specs of 2015 devices.
