Default Change out dome light-What do you suggest?

I know nothing about this. Is there a way to change out the dome light to a much brighter bulb? I simply would like a brighter bulb to replace the factory one. If this can be done what bulb do I buy? Thanks!

Leds.
White color only though as all the other colors, are not as bright. BUT don't buy the cheap China ones on ebay.

Like stated above, switch over to an LED. Much more light output and it'll use less power. I changed all my interior bulbs to red LEDs.

Check out:

V-LEDS.COM | LED Dome, Map, License Plate, Reverse, DRL, Turn Signal, Brake Lights

That's where I get all my LEDs and HID kits. Very good products and they have a lot to choose from.

Do you have, or can you post pictures? I have a red sportage and want to change the interior lights to red too.

I go through www.autolumination.com Tail Light Brake Light Turn Signal LED Bulbs for mine. The site looks kind of on the sketchy side, but I have ordered for multiple vehicles and have gotten good bulbs every time.

Here's the link to my "build:"

I used the same type/color bulb for the trunk and glovebox. Red is good for nightvision, it's plenty bright too. From the outside, it's just a really cool, red glow. My friends say it looks like magma in the car. The windows are tinted %5 so you can't see in so the red light looks really cool.

Bear in mind that when the doors are shut the light doesn't go off suddenly but fades slowly. If LEDs are installed this effect would probably be lost.

Still fades out with the LEDs.

I have a white 48 LED panel (that did come from ebay and China) for under $3.00 and it provides wonderful amounts of light in my 06 Spectra. This one also has adaptors for different types of lamp connections. Check their offers for different size festoon lamps.
The LEDs do dim properly.

I have the white 24LED boards mounted in the map lights also and have modified the wiring so that both map lights come on with the dome when the doors are opened or the dome light is manually switched on.
The dark grey interior found in the Spectra SX was gloomy with the original lamps...No more!

I bought china LEDS for my car and house bulbs, they all, were better over regular, but the non china ones are a made a bit better. I have an issue with how cheap the china leds, look and feel. I have some on my sporty currently, installed in front markers last summer, I just had to replace both fronts last week. One year on them (not even 8 months), thats not too good. Have you tried the Non china ones yet.I have, they last longer than 1 year LOL, built not as cheaply. Sure it was 3.00, but who wants to keep changing them out yearly?
Huge difference.
Sure the china leds do provide a bit more light than a regular bulb, sacrafice quality, and the good ones like from companies listed above, provide much brighter leds.
But you do get what you pay for and they do cost a bit more.
