Dears
My car kia sportage 2008, 2000cc, 54000 KM when I start it in the morning I didn't hear this voice in this video but when driving it and stop and restart it again I hear this voice coming from engine.
what is the problem
Does it sound like only from one cylinder with a slow cyclic sound, or multiple from a fast cyclic sound when compared to the actual engine RPM?
It can be a stuck lash adjuster (which sits under the cam shaft lobe, but on top of the valve stem. These are filled with oil, and if it is not filled, then you will hear a tick sound as the valve clearance has increased. If it is the lash adjuster, then you will have to replace it.
Piston slap is another, something that I experienced, not as a result of poor componentry with the engine, but rather a dose of sand from when the powder coaters sand blasted my intake manifold and left sand in side. That is a piston replacement job, and the sound will sound like a tick on the upward stroke when firing.
I guess, there are many things that can cause what you are hearing. Perhaps have a mechanic listen to it as well.
Call around to part stores and find a stethoscope like a doctor uses but is made for car repair.
While someone is starting it listen with these to hear what part of engine sound is coming from. I carry mine with me and they really help just make sure you stay away from belts and fan.
