CV Joint Breaks, I need help!
I have a 2000 KIA Sephia and I replaced my CV joint(driver side) but apparently it was a bad one. My transmission fluid started leaking on that side and go figure its coming from the joint. Went to take it off to see why and I guess it wasn't in all the way. My b/f pushed it in and when he went to see if he could pull it out, the darn thing was broke. Now its stuck in there and the part where the inner boot is just pulls away from it. So you cant pull it out. We got a bar and tried to pry it out, also tried using a screw driver but it just wont budge. I need to get this fixed but we dont know where to go from here. What can I do to get it out so I can replace it. Its still under warranty. We just put it on last week.
Its my primary car so I kind of need fixed quick. Thanks for any help I can get.

Well my guess is that if it wasn't in all the way, you did have a good c/v until you drove it with it not in all the way.
That c/v should just pull out. Is the end part with the splines on it stuck in there? Is that what your saying? The part with the splines, is it broke off the c/v and stuck in there?

Yes the end with the splines is stuck in there. It started to come out fine but my bf wanted to see if maybe he just had it in wrong. When he pushed it back in it wouldnt come back out. Yes it is broke from the CV joint. Only the boot is holding it on. Cant pull it out and cant wedge it out from under the car.
Best fix that I can come up with is; tow it to a shop. Based on what I'm reading, I believe that one of two things is going on here. You have rotated the spines just enough that you can no longer remove the CV shaft without having yanked or even pressed out; or, you guys have separated the inside CV knuckle and cannot get enough grip on the remaining CV shaft to pull it out. Either way, but this point, you will need a new CV half-shaft and if I were in your shoes, I would ask a wielder buddy to wield a little piece of metal to the end of whatever is sticking out so that I could get a hold of it and pull it out of there. Either way, based on what I think that I am reading, you will not be able to get at this problem to fix it without a good vehicle lift to get under it and find out what is going on and fix it. I did my wife's CV joints about a year ago, and it is an easy job as long as everything goes right, but as soon as it doesn't, you are always looking at a tow-truck fee and shop fee. Good luck, and hopefully we will have some more information from you soon so that we can help you guys out with better advice.

What we did with the Kia
Well because we really didnt have the money to do anything, we just put it all back together and are driving it. It was leaking before we found out it was broke but since we put it back together it hasnt leaked at all. So far its driving fine but we know that we are gonna have to replace it before long. As for getting it out of there, we found out some things we can try. Hopefully it will work when we fix it. For now I just drive my poor little car. Thanks for the replies and keep them coming. Never know whats gonna happen when we do get to it. I will also keep everyone updated as we fix it!
