The car will not start due to this modual being burnt out I was told it will cost over 300.00 for a replacement
All it does is tell the car it is in nutrual to start otherwise the car runs fine it is located on the shift assembly below the linkage it has two black wires that lead to another micro switch under the shift and i think a blue , red and orange wires that go into the body of the car

The Owners manual infront of me says:

Shift Lock Override - If the shifer lever should fail to move from the P (Park) position with the brake depressed:

1. Carefully remove the cap covering the emergincy override access hole which is located on the right side of the shifter lever.
2. Insert a screwdriver (phillips or flat blade) into the access whole, then turn and hold the screwdriver in the full clockwise position.
3. Press the brake pedal.
4. Depress the lock release button and move the shifter lever.

I would personal remove the safty lever. You still have to push the side button on the shifter to move it into gear.
