Why do my headlights Pulsate?

I can't tell when I'm driving if they pulsate but at idle the headlights pulsate (dim slightly then get brighter, dim slightly then get brighter, repeat). The headlights are awful to begin with, but that's another story especially with one headlight seal broken/clouded

Usually, that issue with the Headlamps, is related to the Bad Grounding that these old Kias develop with time, and if that's the case, it is easy to fix by adding another ground from the Battery negative post, to the Engine or Transmission, then from there to the Body, without removing the original grounding wire.

However, I kindly suggest you to check both H4 Halogen's Sockets, as they could melt with age, causing electrical false contact.

As for the wet / cloudy headlamps, you can easily disassemble them, clean them, and reassembly them, using mega grey silicone; I did that seven years ago, and they are sealed like new, completely Dry.

Look for photos and procedures on my "KiaStein" build thread, whose web link is on my Signature, Below.

Kind Regards.

Thanks Loyale 2.7 Turbo. I'll try the ground but I like the H4 Halogen's Sockets better. They are probably the problem (cracking with age). Time is the problem.

This is my second Sephia and I usually know the problem before it starts. Recently I had a water pump failure right in front of the Virginia KIA dealership. Replaced everything including the timing chain/belt and the pre-cat. I'm afraid this thing will now run forever until it rusts out, now haven taken it back up North. BTW-want to thank you for for the sea foam post and especially the brake post (see post sticky area)(Ive done neither but plan too (printed copies are sitting on my passenger seat)). I've taken my life in my hands in that car in traffic and need to leave 5 car lengths in front of me so I have time to stop (people behind me get pissed). How did you reached those two brass brake cylinders? Next job is to coat the inside of the drivers door with white lithium spray grease before it freezes. Probably should order a extra drivers door handle now (color will be what's avalable).

Thanks Loyale 2.7 Turbo ... thank you for for the sea foam post and especially the brake post ...
You're Welcome!

Yes, Time and Plastics that were chemically designed to be biodegradable, so many of the Wiring's Plugs are crumbling away; I've dealt with that on sensors, and also on a Radiator Fan's Plug, which cause one of the most horrid overheating episodes I've seen; but this Li'l Kia survived with flying colours; two overheatings so far... all is documented, with photos, on my "KiaStein" build thread.

Ha, Ha ... Yes! ... and even that is Repairable; but is a good thing, especially with this Generation of cars with Planned Obsolescence, running around.

If you mean the improved Proportioning Valves for these Sephias, they're available at the Local Kia Dealer; I posted their part number, so you can order them easily; However, first Check if your Sephia has that mere style of proportioning valves, as the newer editions (2001) featured a distribution Box, with said proportioning valves already Built-in it, so be Sure which style your Sephia do have, prior to order anything.

On my "KiaStein" Build thread, I also shared a procedure to repair these door handles when they are Broken, you can do the reinforcement procedure without waiting them to Break, so they could last Forever.

Kind Regards.
