I had a Cee'd 1.4S which was registered in January 2008 but I think it was built in July 2007 according to sticker on front subframe. This car had noisy rear shockabsorbers not too bad though. I traded it in for a new 2008 Cee'd 1.4 SR last Friday because I got a good deal on it and wanted alloy wheels instead of the steel ones on the S model. The sticker on the SR models front subframe is dated February 2008. So far there is no noise coming from the rear suspension. I wonder if they have changed the shock absorbers in the factory because of complaints of early Cee'ds having noisy ones.
