Just got the sorrento sxl and I'm not sure if it has front parking proximity sensors because I don't hear anything when I put it in drive and the from camera comes on. Can someone verify that for me before I take a trip back to the dealer. The rear sensors work and I know this vehicle has the front sensors because in the settings theres an option to turn them off. Also the view button on the console, when I turn it on and I slow down the camera comes on like it's supposed to but then the button turns off. Is it supposed to turn off? I'm new to kias and the site thanks for any help. I also never gotten a warning from the forward collision warning system. So these might be tied in together. Thanks.

There are no front parking sensors in the US and there is no need to be disappointed. You can visually see them in the back. So they are not going to be invisible in the front. It is not an advertised feature!

I guess it doesn't have front sensors since theres a from camera. The service manager gave me the story about the collision warning only working when cruise control is on. But I proceeded to explain that it wasn't like that. He continued to disagree with me until a mechanic joined our conversation in the middle and proved me right. The mechanic then took the car for a drive and did say he got a warning. I still wasn't satisfied but I had no choice but to leave. The mechanic did say to drive it for a while and then maybe it will come on but to bring it back if it doesn't. I live in NYC this thing should be on all the time cause someone always stopping short in front of me this is why im not sure its working. The cruise control works great as it should. I'm gonna try and block the front camera to see if it gives me an error message. Wish me luck.

Good luck @jostnyc. having seen how folks park their cars in Manhattan i expect any sensors in bumpers would be rendered useless? So that camera under the front decal on the SXL might be a better bet >:D

FWIW here is an option i had briefly considered adding to my vehicle. not that i live anywhere near NYC it was more comfort factor
Steelmate 4 Sensors Parking Reverse Radar Alert System Anti-false Buzzer OB7F | eBay.
Given the extent of electrical wiring to be done I abandoned the idea but if it helps you ........

Well I took a road trip with my new Sorento. Drive down to Washington DC. Still no forward collision all the way down. One time while in Georgetown a jogger jumped out from behind a parked car and I didn't see him but I managed to slam on the brakes before hitting him. No collision warning no automatic braking. Then another day after that incident while moving slow and going around a vehicle that was making a left from the right lane and ended up across my lane the forward collision warning went off for the first time. It was weird cause I wasn't going too fast or in danger of hitting the vehicle. The warning didn't go off until my left headlight was behind his right taillight. And all this was not on purpose as I have been trying unsuccessfully to make it go off. It went off a second time on the highway while driving goes spirited and changing lanes. Again not on purpose. So what made it come alive? But at least I know it works now. I have driven a Nissan murano with the forward collision warning and that system comes on alot. I guess it all works differently. Thanks for listening.
