As the title say, has anyone done this with their Sorento? I saw this picture of a Tiguan installed with offroad 4x4 wheel and tires and I have to say it looks very nice.

Was thinking about going for 22" wheel, but not sure about the ride comfort and going with 20" just doesn't give the car that aggressive look. What do you guys think?

You can change the size of the tire but watch out about overall circumference, you'll just create headaches down the road.Decrease your rim size, don't increase it.Tire rub on the strut.Increase stress on steering component. It looks sharp but careful with your finished product.Pics if you try it.

Yes, will need to keep everything within spec as what you have said.

To decrease it, I would only be satisfied if the car will have that aggressive stance like the tiguan in the picture above. Otherwise I don't see any reason for changing my stock wheel.

Do you think having offroad tires like that roughen the ride? Never driven an offroad vehicle before.

Will surely post up pix once I have decided and installed the wheel.

To keep within the specs of overall diameter, the only way to make the tire look bigger(illusion) and more aggressive is to reduce the rim size.I think the ride would be alot softer and smoother over potholes and rough roads but alot more tire noise from the aggressive tread pattern.

Ya, I am concern about the road noise. Tough decision.

Here's what I cooked up to see how it would look on a sorento.

You know that looks pretty good, but I have driven in off road vehicles with them knobby tires and the constant drone sound from tires gets annoying after awhile.Good for the country roads or off road but not really for the pavement. But like I say It does look good.:thumbsup:Nice rendering

You make the payment... you be you!

I see lifted F250's runnin Dick Cepeks that ain't never hit a gravel road, let alone mud. Jeeps Wranglers dressed out in 10 grand in mods, driven by the country club wives who probably don't know how to lock it in low if they get stuck on the curb at the spa downtown after brunch. Some jackwagon's got a Duramax dually slammed on air bags in town. 2 streets over there's a Toyota Sienna ride'n on what looks like 22"s, yeah, a minivan. For that matter there's countless old POS's with 5 grand in tires and 26" rims and the car is from a "buy here pay here" and it's not worth 500 bucks.

I think there's a whole lotta "who they try'n to fool"... but to each their own! If you like it and your paying for it, you do it. Props to you for doing something different.

Haha... This got the discussion going real quick.

Don't mind being a poser. I am just looking at options. I wouldn't even think about bringing my car off roading TBH even with these wheels. Just like the aggressive looks that's all.

So its either the 22" refine look or its the 16/17" huge sidewall wrangler's tires aggressive look. Thanks for all your comments.

I think if you do it, your biggest problem is going to be size. Usually All Terrain and Mud Terrain tires are of the taller sidewall type. They do this because the tire needs a tall sidewall and flex if it's doing off road duty. Not sure what size rim you plan to run but... the selection is pretty limited when I input my Sorento LX 17 inch rim size. You might need to go down to a 16" or 15" rim to get the taller 70 series sidewall tires to open up your options and stay within clearance. I've been looking for tires so I just changed my search from All Season to All Terrain and there's not much of anything with that aggressive look. The Falken Wildpeaks look good.
