Radio 3 tones

When listening to XMradio (all I listen too so not sure if it's XM related) I randomly get 3 tones. At first I thought it was related to the channel (VENUS) I was listening too. Now when I hear it I instantly change channels and the 3 tones continue. aka it doesn't stop when I change over to another channel. It's like its coming from the car trying to tell me something. Could be related to that fact my 3 month trial is almost up but just weird it continues when I change the channel.

Does it continue when listening to FM or AM? Seems I've heard 3 beeps too, but can't remember what it is...seatbelts fastened?
Some of those beeps are sure annoying, wish to hell it would just print it out on any of the screens.

This may or may not be related. I get this tone whenever I am close to a previously saved POI. For example, I have my Home and Work saved as a destination or favorite (can't remember how it's listed). Doesn't matter that I am not using the navigation. But if the Nav is not MUTED, I will get the tones when I reach the destination. I repeat, this occurs even though I am NOT using the Nav system. So, I just mute the nav system until I need to use it.

There is a three tone noise from the dash when the temperature drops to 4 degrees Celsius in my vehicle but judging from your location (Florida) this likely isn't the case. I also get the POI tone from the nag but only one tone and it sounds like the intercom tone before the captain makes an announcement on an airplane LOL.

i get this too, and only recently.... its different from the GPS proximity to a saved place (i already shut that off by going into the place in address book and disabling the proximity alert). That is a doorbell sound.

maybe it has to do with the XM sub ending soon? i coincidently just got the papers in the mail trying to sell me a subscription.

I figured it out. It was because my XM trial was near the end. When I was a passenger I had time to pay attention. Every time it happened, the screen has a 1 800 number saying to renew. I decided to extend the XM subscription and the tones stopped.

Which reminds me...XM/Sirius fees are VERY negotiable when you renew.
Sometimes you have to tell them you know others are getting it cheaper than their opening price and you want it too. Ask for a supervisor or someone in the 'loyalty dept'.

I'm getting mine for $25 for six months.
