Hello forum posters, readers et al,
i've been reading for some time and today choose to post. I bought 2016 Sorento SX 2.0l AWD with all the options in. Trade in a VW Passat TDI for it.
The car has been paid on March 24th 2015 in full and it's not in my possession as of yet due to production and travel from Georgia, USA to Vancouver, BC, Canada. I supposed to have the car this coming Friday! Very excited, indeed!
The title on this post was triggered by the fact that I can not see that trim on any of the KIA websites in Canada. I do have a paperwork of sell and VIN#. No one could see on the web what I've bought!
Any help and explanation would be appreciated!
Thank you.

I recently took delivery of a 2016 SX +. Features for your SX with 2.0 litre turbo show under "Features and Specs" in the Sorento section. Shows rows for each feature and columns for each trim level.
Yours will be the right hand SX column.

However the top trim level is the SX +. You will see features marked with a + sign that are standard on the SX + trim level and only available at that level.
This trim requires a V6 engine and is a 7 seater whereas yours is a 5 seater.
It will be missing + trim options such as nappa leather seating, electronic parking brake and a number of safety technology features such as smart cruise control, lane departure warning, collision warning and all around camera based 360 view.

disappointment of some including myself is that you are forced to gt the V6 with 3rd row seating for 7 in order to get the "+" options. I am happy with the V6 but would have rather had a 5 seater.

Thank you Dharp123 for the reply!
Just to clarify I didn't get 7 seat, V6 or 3 rows. I payed for Kia Sorento SX 2.0l AWD 5 seats with all the options and that includes smart cruise control, lane departure warning, collision warning, all around camera 360 view, cross rear view, Nappa leather and parking brake. I asked many tames at the time of the purchasing that I do want 5 seated not 7 seats car with all the options.
Hahaha, Now you managed to confuse the hell out of me even more...hahaha. Well, I always can refuse to get it if not happy with the it and the fulfillment of the agreement. Cheers

I can say with virtual 100% certainty that the SX version you have bought does not have the "+" options you have listed.
If it were possible I would have bought the SX version that you have ordered as I did not want the 7 seater.

If you go to the "build" Sorento in the Kia Canada website.
After you select SX trim. If do not select optional packages, you get your model 5 seater with 2.0 litre turbo.
If you check features you will not find those tech options such as smart cruise control and will get an MSRP of about $42,000.
Under select options your have two V6 seven seater choices; one without the additional "+" options and one with- shows the "+" in the option choice.
When this "+" option is selected, all the tech options and nappa leather show up under features along with an MSRP of $46,000 plus.

This "force" customer to get the V6 and 7 seater is the same in the U.S. if want what is called the technology option there, can't get it with the turbo and 5 seater SX.
You can't even get the combination of a V6 and 5 seater as you could for the 2014 and 2015 model years.

I don't know why your sales person/dealer would think you are getting the "+" options when there is a $4,000 price difference.

This "force the V6 and 7 seater" has been discussed/complained about in other threads in this forum.

The most recognizable sign that the car is missing these options is there will be no electronic brake button in the centre area between driver and passenger. Unless you know what nappa leather is like, the other safetyy options can only be noticed when turning on the ignition, especially the lane departure two vertical bars

Hi again Dharp123 and thank you again!
I just got a phone call that the car has arrived and I'll be able to pick it up on Friday. Although, I am going to see it tomorrow and ask to install bug protector and rain/wing cover, so I'll be able to confirm what I have for sure. On other hand I asked for a few pictures of the car including the centre area between driver and passenger column. If anyone would like to advise how to post pictures here, I'll do it ASAP. Thank you. Cheers

Saw it! Thank you! Still waiting for the pictures. Have a bad feeling about it. Wonder why the Dealership in Richmond, BC would say yes on every question I asked about this features. I bought the car for my wife exactly for the Smart Cruise Control, Advance Warning System, Lane Control and all other features. I asked the sells person and after that his manager. Both was keep saying yes, yes, yes...
I was disappointed from the sells person right on arrival at the Car dealership on March 24th 2016. We talked on the phone the evening on March 23rd and he said to me to come over tomorrow and choose my car! We have everything! I asked for the cherry colour and he said yes. So next day I went! That was a huge blow when I find out that no 2016 Sorento 2.0L AWD cars on the lot and that I have to wait 3-4 weeks for delivery. Not only that, but, no 2016 Sorento period. One test drive lower trim model that I did test drive. It seems now that we have a different kind of blow up coming up. I'll go tomorrow and see the car and speak with the Manager. If the car is not what I asked and payed for it in full with the extra coverage, I may refuse the car and do complain against the Dealership. This is simply unacceptable if that is the case. I am still waiting passionately for a phone call and pictures. Although has passed 21:11...

Car salespeople are a lot like politicians; if their lips are moving, they're probably lying.

If the car is not what I asked and payed for it in full . . .
That's why one should NEVER EVER pay in full before seeing what they are getting. A down payment on a special order is reasonable, but they hold all the cards in the case of a discrepancy, mistake, or anything different than what you expect (or paid for).

Good luck! I hope this works out well for you.

Yes, hard to read the buttons but the point is the button layout. As indicated 3 of them are for those additional features including the two centre ones.
Another clue to to what you paid for the car. As mentioned the MSRP for the SX 2.0 litre is around $42,000 versus $46,000 for the SX+.

Other scenario is that you are getting the SX + and not the SX 2.0 litre, but then are getting V6 and 7 seater.

be nice if you had something in writing from the dealer stating the SX 2.0L includes those additional options, so can void the contract if not.
If "committment" was only verbal, could be tougher.

My salesman was insistent my car had rain sensing wipers as manual says this is an option and the SX + has everything.
Turned out it didn't, but wasn't a feature I was after.

Yah, not a good sign. If you told them why you wanted the pics, they may have found out that perhaps the car is not what they thought it was.

I found over last two buys that I know more about the cars from advance research than the salesmen do, especially early after a new model year car is released and they haven't seen all the trim levels yet.

When test drove the 2014 Sx Sorento two years ago, I had to walk the salesman thru it's features rather than the other way around.

This forum has been an excellent source for research.

Looking at the Kia Richmond site, i note that as soon as you select the Sorento and want to "price", it takes you to the Kia Canada site to build the car nd when you do, the SX with the 2.0L engine which is standard, doe not get you those addtional options unless you add the optional V6 7 seater + option..

Looking further at the Kia Richmond website, see that have 9 sorentos available.
One of them is literally "my car" , a dark cherry "2016 Kia Sorento 3.3 SX+" as listed in their website.
It is the only Sx showing; would not include yours as these are presumably available for sale but gives you one to look at as a possible alternative to the Sx 2.0L if you can live with the 7 seater and the extr it costs..

Am guessing their quoted price includes freight as the base MSRP iss around $46.400

Last night I drove a very nice car/SUV home! The Sorento SX+ Titanium looks awesome with the chrome bug and rain/wind visors on! The Dealership was incredibly nice and helpful. They gave me a 84 months theft protection - "Kia Protect Vehicle Loss Privilege Program" worth over $600.00 for a value of 5K against new car replacement price (works also with 3rd party protection). Also a trunk floor cover KIA mat when 3rd raw is down. The car would be driven 99% of the time that way. All that is of course on top of all other $ discounts! Great people after all! Rocky start turns to an awesome experience for all! Thank you!
P.S.
Will post pictures very soon.
Thank you Dharp123 et al!
Cheers

Yours is the colour of the SX that Kia has been running in a recent ad which ends up with a nice shot of the car beside a river bank. Looks sharp.
Glad you had an all's well that ends well.
Think you will enjoy the technology features; love the smart cruise control and 360 degree cameras.

Love the colour of this Sorento! This Titanium colour it's Chameleon! Changes its appearance with light change and angle! It's grey and it's bronze and it's with yellowish and it's with greenish and it's ...I don't know what! Amazing! Most amazing its my wife loves it! ;-)

Had not heard of this and lots of deer around here, so looked into and found this review in the Globe and Mail.

"Rob Found, a PhD candidate and wildlife researcher associated with the University of Alberta, agrees that whistles are marketed on flawed evidence. “The bottom line is they don’t work.

“They’ve done a number of tests on these whistles, and a lot of them are actually outside the range of the hearing of deer or other ungulates that would be on the roads. Another problem is they tend to be a low frequency, and the volume really blends into the noise of the vehicles and the highway noise in general, so they really don’t jump out as an alarm.”
