This past weekend, I test drove both a 2013 LX with the V6 and a 2014 LX with the V6. I agree with what others here said; the 2013's 3.5L V6 felt more powerful to me from a stop. On the other hand, I like most things about the 2014 better.

For the 2014's, the dealer I visited only had the LX's and SXL's. I made an offer on an SXL FWD. It has the 3rd row seat and a few minor accessories. I believe MSRP was $40,300.
My offer was $34,400. They turned it down. We went back and forth, but not too long...I think about 15 minutes total. My wife and I weren't too serious about this. We knew our offer was very low. On a 2013, we thought they might bite that offer, but probably not on a 2014 which the dealer said they just started getting two weeks ago. BTW, I do think $36,000 would've gotten them to bit. The salesman hinted at that. On the other hand, I'm doubtful I would buy at $36,000. $35,000 to $35,000 is probably where things get interesting for me for that trim.

We like the SXL, but we'll probably buy an SX FWD. MSRP on the one we want - FWD, 3rd row, a few accessories will probably be about $37,500. I plan to offer $32,500.
daveINvegas, this is in line with what you got.

You people in the states are lucky. A top of the line SX up here in canada can push $44,000

I just picked up a 2014 SX FWD with 3rd row and a few accessories. It stickered for $37,150 and I got it for $31,490 out the door after rebates.

Iggy373 & daveINvegas, did either of you buy a kia before. I'm curious if you got the loyalty rebate. I'm not eligible for that one so I'm wonder if I can't get my price as low as what you got.

No, I have never owned a Kia before, but did qualify for $1,500 from Kia for trading my 2007 Dodge Nitro SLT

small update:

Tested 2014 SX two days ago . It had ~ 150 miles on ODO and somebody related to dealership was driving it daily back and forth.

So, car was much responsive comparable with 2014 EX with zero on ODO. Peppy like my 2013 EX V6 , probably, little bit less. Active eco was off, steering setting set to sport mode.

Just got a silver 2014 SX 5 seater last Saturday. The SX in Canada is pretty much equivalent to the SXL in the States except no Nappa leather. While overall happy so far, have a couple of gripes:
1. No UVO E Services apparently in Canada
2. Nav has less functionality than my portable Garmin plus apparently will cost $200 for an upgrade
3. Safety feature to reverse direction of power liftgate as indicated in manual not operative.

daveINvegas, this is in line with what you got.
Here is how our deal broke down in my email with the dealer (i never spoke with anyone, and cut this deal via email) :

... the MSRP is $38,500... typically out the door would be $42217.52 on this vehcile... if you want this vehcile, stock# XXXXX, they will do it for $35,500 out the door... that would be selling this sorento at $33673.43 minus the $1500 competitive rebate... that would be $4500 under invoice plus tax title license = $35,500.

Hope that helps.
