Hi,
Does anyone else think kia should have stuck with the 3.5 and just made it more powerful/efficient, I mean, if they can get 290hp and I believe 254? torque out of a 3.3, why didn't they keep the 3.5 and get 310 hp and 280 torque out of it. I am not a fan of such a small engine or of them putting a small engine in a larger-ish vehicle (couldn't imagine it in the LWB Santa fe). I am not saying that there is anything in particular wrong with the 3.3, just that I felt a 3.5 was better suited for the job.....I have to say I am VERY impressed with kia and Hyundai's ability to pull 290 out of a 3.3.....just the power crazy person inside of me. If it were up to me, the base engine would be a 2.5 with 200hp and a 3.5 with 310 hp (possibly also giving the Sorento a proper 5000lb tow rating, like the upcoming highlander will have). Can anyone imagine how fast it would be.....maybe even leave the 310hp 3.5 to the sx and sx-l trims only?
