Remote start problems

I purchased my 2014 Sorento SX and included a remote start in the deal. Kia now has its own remote. At delivery they were unable to install and operate the remote start correctly. The Tech spent 6 hrs trying to get the remote to work. I would start remotely but would not allow the car to turn off at all. The car continued to run with no method to shut down the car until it ran out of fuel. After a 2 week wait I am going back to the dealer to have it reinstalled. They also had the same problem with a different remote unit when installed on a rondo the same day. I have a 2013 with a viper remote that works flawless. PS it is a 2 way remote. Any one else have an issue with the 2way remote start? Will find out Wednesday if the problem is resolved.

Get the Kia remote start installed. They work perfect and install fairly easy. I have installed 3 on 2014 Sorentos lately without a problem.

What does the remote start option cost? There is no conflicts with the keyless-go setup correct?

Hello SpongeBob. It was the Kia 2 way remote that had some type of software issue. I have the push button start, have you installed on that type? I am going in tomorrow to have it installed. Will comment when the work is finished.

Yes, I have installed both. The install is very clean, with only one wire tap required, all the other connections are done with t-connectors. The Kia remote start comes with a small 2 button transmitter for the remote start.

The dealership I went to installed the wrong remote starter.. as in I think it belonged to another model car.
I have a 2 way remote installed and sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't.
Does anyone know the range on this thing?

I had a customer come in with a viper installed one day that would start only sometimes. It would also not unlock the doors all the time. I recommended getting the Kia one installed, but have yet to hear there decision.

I have started cars with the Kia remote start about 400 feet. I think the owners manual says it will work up to 500 feet but I have not tested one that far.
