Default myUVO services

I have registered at www.myuvo.com and put the app on my iPhone. I really like being able to order diagnostic reports and have them sent to my account. For a weekend trip I put in 5 POIs on MyUVO, transferred them to my iPhone app and have them on my Sorento when the iPhone connects via bluetooth.

Anyone else hooking up their Sorento via the phone app and MyUVO?

Yep, I use it. Using it this weekend to go to a reunion north of me.

Just being picky, but there seems to be extra unneeded steps. You do your POIs on the website, then you have to open the app (which signs in automatically), get the new destinations on your app, then when your phone connects to your car, you have to open the app and navigate on UVO to tell it to update MyPOIs. Whew! I know, picky, but shouldn't all that updating happen in the background once your car is connected?

It is a nice thing, no doubt.

I'm curious if anyone has used the UVO eServices... actually hit that button and talked to someone? What do you use that for (other than an emergency)?

I agree with extra step should be removed and when phone connected with UVO app open it should download POI automatically...

Another stupid thing: if you search for POI in app itself under MyUVO tab and save it...you still have to open My POI tab and click 'Get Destination' to download it to app (common, I was added it in app itself)...and then of course extra step to press on a car to 'Get destination' - how about that?

For our first road trip I put in 5 POI destinations. Once downloaded to the Sorento, you call them up from a different spot in the menus compared to POI you define directly via the Sorentos' screen. When I got home, I deleted the 5 trip-specfic POIs without problem.

While the process could be streamlined, I recommend those with Sorentos and smart phones that can do the communications to try out some custom POIs, order diagnostic tests...etc.

I was able to transfer POIs from my smartphone to the car, but the next time I tried it, all my POIs from my smartphone got over-ridden by the ones in the car, I must be doing something wrong.

It's not as easy as it could be, but compared to other car systems, I think it's head and shoulders better!

What would be cool, sorry to hijack topic, but does anyone know if you can plan a route out from your home, and then transfer the route to your car navigation?

Destination yes....via Google maps to your smartphone bluetoothed to the Sorento. But a complete route, I don't think so. The routing is done by the Sorento in real time according to where the Sorento determines you to be (not what a predetermined route might say is the starting point), desired type of route you pick: shortest, fastest....etc. With Sirius Traffic you can get rerouting based on traffic flow.

To download whole route and use it as it's - you somehow have to have the same map on your search engine and car - which is not easy to achive
