Based on the commercials I have seen for the 2014, the new KIA RS fob is identical to the one Hyundai has been offering since about end of June/July for the Santa Fe. It is a new kit that is basically designed for the vehicles and plug and play, with no soldering required, unlike previous kits. However, I caution that this new RS 2-way kit has certain issues, quirks and settings which are a real pain and have yet to be figured out Hyundai Canada.
a) Parking lights will flash 30 times if any door is opened after the rear hatch has been opened and closed. If any door is open when the hatch is opened and closed, no problem.
b Doors will not unlock with proximity key after auto start. Need to use the push button on the door handle to unlock.
c) Hatch will not open with remote start fob when car is remote started, but works fine when not remote started.
d) 30 second timer: There is a 30 second timer that engages once any door is opened during remote start. This requires pressing the push START button twice within the 30 seconds in order to disengage the remote start, else the remote start shuts down and the engine turns off. So whenever you come out of the grocery store and remote start, as soon as you open the hatch to load groceries, the 30 seconds starts, so you have to leave the cart, run to the drivers door, and press the start button twice to disengage remote start. Meanwhile, if I am in my local costco where the parking lot is has a good slant to it, my grocery cart is rolling away potentially damaging another vehicle. Nuts.
Anyway, just a note a caution if you are thinking of going this route...presuming of course that the KIA RS is the same kit.
